Athena, a leader in motorcycle parts for more than 40 years, launches its new range of hot-forged 4-stroke off-road motorcycle pistons by reverse extrusion. Manufactured with state-of-the-art numerical control (CNC) machines, which ensure production dimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm, Athena pistons are produced from special high-performance silicon-based aluminum alloy that ensures reliability equal to the original while providing greater strength and excellent performance. Perfectly polished profiles thus ensure smooth flow and ideal flame front propagation.

A screen-printed surface coating of sintered Molybdenum Bisulfide is also reported on the shell of some pistons, which allows for increased smoothness, performance and durability, further reducing friction and noise.

Athena engineers ensure technical solutions and quality standards equal to or better than those adopted in OE productions, so as to ensure maximum performance and reliability.

Each piston, engineered in Italy by Athena's R&D department, also undergoes stringent bench and track tests to test its performance.
This Athena and OE cylinder piston is equipped with piston rings, which ensure less friction with the cylinder and thus higher performance.
In addition to the piston itself, the kit includes the piston pin, piston pin retaining rings and piston ring kit.
